trekking xxl socks

These were a really fast knit. They were my first pair of trekking socks and won't be my last. At under $14 they are soft and colorful. I used color 100. I used the stitch pattern from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks "Gentleman's Sock" but that's all I used from the pattern. The needles I used were addi turbo circs size 0 (2mm). I used a short row heel variant from a pattern for Easy Sock (similar to the Sherman Heel). What is great is that there are no holes as compared to the short rows done with the wrap type short rows. I found it through the great resource Lauri B's Toes and Heels. The only thing I would have done differently is make the cuff longer, it seemed plenty long enough but with the shorter heel pulling down the cuff, it was shorter than I planned. If it bothers me a lot I could undo the cast on and add on a repeat.
